3 Reasons Why Your Ideal Client Might Not Find Your Website

3 Reasons Why Your Ideal Client Isn't Finding Your Website

You’ve built an awesome website, bought a domain name, shared your site across social media, and now you’re ready for work.

You sit back waiting for the phone to start ringing, or your door to be beaten down by a flood of eager clients who all see the value in your work and have expansive marketing budgets.

But the clients aren’t coming.

At least, maybe not the clients you expected. You’re frustrated and disappointed and maybe confused as to why things aren’t working out.

Time to take a step back and look at these three reasons why your ideal client might not be finding you.

1. Your Website Isn’t Clear

When you navigate to your new website, you probably get a feeling of pride and satisfaction seeing the online manifestation of all your hard work.

Maybe you have some widgets in the sidebar, or some great video content. But what are potential clients seeing?

In the first five seconds of arriving at your site, potential clients should be able to answer three questions.

1) What is it that you do?

2) How can it make my life better?

3) How can I buy it or learn more about it?

There are very few websites that can get away without needing this “grunt test”. Your site needs to be clear, concise, and attractive.

2. Lacking A Google My Business Listing

Did you know that Google will list your business for free? Setting up a Google My Business account is fast, easy, and free. Yes I’ll repeat that; it’s free.

From Google My Business’ FAQ– “Google My Business is a free tool that allows you to promote your Business Profile and business website on Google Search and Maps.

With your Google My Business account, you can see and connect with your customers, post updates to your Business Profile, and see how customers are interacting with your business on Google.”

Google My Business

Setting up an account is easy. Simply use your google account to set up your business name, enter your address and contact info, verify that you own the business, and you’re ready to go!

Summed up, if you own a business, you should be using Google’s My Business to leverage the powerful tools that are already out there.

I share how I optimized my client’s Google My Business in my eCourse, Private Practice Marketing Secrets.

3. Too Much Competition

One reason that many businesses miss out on clients is simply due to market saturation. You could have an incredible website and an awesome presence through your Google Business Listing but it still may not be enough.

Some industries by nature are significantly more competitive than others. So how do you break from the mold and set yourself apart?

The Solution: Google Adwords

With Google Adwords you can jump to the very top of search results. It puts your business above your competition and can be leveraged to target a very specific kind of client.

I’ve been helping businesses take advantage of this powerful tool and have seen the results firsthand. SEO and organic searches are great but sometimes businesses need even more help.

The extra push from Google AdWords is an investment in the success of your business and can propel you into a new level of online accessibility.

In a world with businesses like Amazon, Facebook, and other online titans, complacently waiting for clients to trickle in is no longer an option. You need to be on the offensive and put your business in front of your ideal clients.
